The Help Transfer Study: Older Workers and their Extended Families

The Help Transfer Study is examining the link between the employment characteristics of older employees (e.g., hours on the job, pay level, benefits, job prestige) and the help they give to and receive from their extended family members.

Key Research Questions:


What types of help do older workers give to their extended families? What are the characteristics of their jobs?

What types of support do older workers receive from their extended family members? What are the characteristics of their jobs?

Study Status:

Data analysis will be completed in Summer 2007.

Selected Findings:

Preliminary findings will be available beginning in Summer 2007.

Publications:

The Summary Report of the Help Transfer Study will be available in Summer 2007. The Issue Brief will be available in Winter 2008.
