According to the survey conducted by AARP, in 2003, "about eight in 10 (79%) Baby Boomers plan to work in some capacity during their retirement years, about the same as in 1998." (p.24)

The findings reported here build upon as earlier benchmark study from 1998, Baby Boomers Envision Their Retirement, also collaboration between AARP and Roper. A large-scale quantitative survey, conducted by telephone in 30 minute interviews among a nationally representative sample of 1,200 adult Americans age 38-57.”
