Ariane Ollier-Malaterre is a post-doctoral researcher with the Center on Aging and Work. She is the Associate Director of the Global Perspectives Institute.

 

Ariane has a 10-year professional experience as management consultant with Accenture, project leader for the registrar's office at Sciences Po Paris, and entrepreneur. She holds a PhD in Management and Organizational Behaviour from ESSEC Business School and CNAM University, Paris. She received 'high distinction' for her dissertation entitled Managing employees' lives outside work? Relevance and Effectiveness of Work-Life Organizational Practices in the United States, the United Kingdom and France'. Ariane's PhD research compares Work-Life Balance organizational initiatives across 3 countries, France, the UK and the US, and investigates the outcomes of these initiatives on the Individual/Organizational relationship. She has carried out field work in the three countries. For her M.S. dissertation in Human Resource Management at CNAM University, Ariane focused on Second Careers: An exploratory study on Continuing Education CNAM Engineers.

 

Ariane is an associate member of an interdisciplinary CNRS research laboratory in France, the LISE. Besides her projects at the Center on Aging and Work, she pursues a post-doctoral research project with GlaxoSmithKline, studying the relationship between Employee Well-being, Employee Engagement and Employee Performance, as well as a number of other collaborations with scholars in Europe and the US. Her research interests include the Individual/Organization relationship, the "Management of the nonwork part of employee's life" (Work-Life and flexible working, Well-Being and Resilience), Lifecycle and Aging, and Protean Careers. She uses both qualitative and quantitative methods, with a special interest for international comparisons.
